Data deletion

Who can ask

A clinic using Clinic desk, or a patient of that clinic, may ask Chikuclinicos HQ to delete personal data we hold for the platform. The clinic is the data controller. We process data on the clinic's instructions, as described in the privacy policy.

How to request deletion

Email siddharth.mishra@outlook.com with the subject line “Data deletion”. Include:

• Whether you are the clinic or a patient.
• The clinic name.
• The staff email, or the patient's WhatsApp number, that the request is about.
• Whether you want one person's data removed, or the whole clinic removed.

For a patient request, we ask the clinic to confirm it, because the clinic is the Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. A clinic request should come from a staff account email we have on file, or from a person the clinic names.

When it is finished

We complete a confirmed deletion within 30 days of the request, and we reply by email when it is done. If we need a missing detail, the 30 days start once we have enough to find the right clinic and person.

What we delete

For one patient, we delete that person's name, WhatsApp number, appointment times, and message logs held for the clinic.

When a clinic leaves, we delete that clinic's staff accounts, patient names and WhatsApp numbers, appointment times, message logs, and the stored WhatsApp access token. After that deletion, the clinic cannot sign in and the desk data cannot be restored.

Clinic desk does not store clinical notes or photographs, so there is nothing of that kind to delete or to retain. We do not sell data before or after a deletion request.

WhatsApp copies

Messages already delivered on WhatsApp may remain in the chat on the phone, and Meta may keep its own delivery records under WhatsApp's policies. Deleting data from Clinic desk removes it from this platform. It does not erase a message from someone's WhatsApp app.
